Summary

 

Oldcastle Enclosures, a rapidly growing division of Oldcastle Infrastructure, is looking for an energetic and detail oriented Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in Acworth, GA. The Acworth facility is a multi-million dollar polymer concrete molding plant that manufactures and supplies critical electric utility and communications products to a national customer base. 

 

The Engineering Manager will oversee and have direct responsibility for existing product design improvements, product specifications and testing, new product design and development, and project design drawings and calculations.   Product design and oversight will be for our polymer trench products manufactured at Acworth, as well as our concrete security and fire wall systems manufactured at other Oldcastle facilities across the U.S.  The Engineering Manager is responsible for driving innovation for products and processes to create and maintain a competitive advantage in the market.

 

Essential Duties

 

  • Manage distribution of daily workload of engineering requests for product certifications, drawings, design information / RFQ's for bids, and other technical requests as needed.
  • Review accuracy of product designs and drawings performed by engineering and drafting team.
  • Work with product management team to design and develop new products.
  • Lead Project Manager for structural walls, including workload of scheduling, quality program improvements, operational procedures, and efficiency for the producing plants.
  • Provide technical support for Engineering request tickets – specials, shop drawings, certifications, quality control documents, etc.
  • Attend daily production meetings and assist as needed on designs (tooling and mold design) for plant improvements for material handling and other safety related issues.
  • Oversee product testing, and product compliance with internal or external specification documents.
  • Participate in annual quality control document reviews and internal plant audits.
  • Attend jobsites or customer meetings as needed to support sales in a technical role.
  • Set team goals and expectations, and communicate weekly with key internal customers related to project status and design backlog.

 

Knowledge and Skills

 

  • Four-year Bachelor of Science degree in either Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain license within one year.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in structural concrete design.
  • Experience with structural software, design tools, and CAD (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
  • Experience with applicable design codes: IBC, ACI, and ASCE/SEI 7-16
  • Strong self-initiative to achieve and drive customer centric results.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
