Summary  

This position is responsible for performing various duties on construction projects, usually working in utility capacity, by transferring from one task to another where demands require the work with varied experience and ability to work without close supervision.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance of all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
  • Shovels asphalt, stone and dirt. Lute stone and asphalt and pick asphalt.
  • Digs, spreads and levels construction materials.
  • Lifts, carries and holds material, tools and supplies.
  • Cleans various tools, equipment, materials and work areas.
  • Operates jack hammer, tamper, chisel and/or power saw.
  • Assists in the erection, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices.
  • Frequently climb 8-12 foot ladder to ingress/egress trenches.
  • Drive pick-up truck at the jobsite and to and from job sites.
  • Obtain and maintain traffic flagger certification.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Other requirements

  • Current Driver’s License and reliable source of transportation.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, customers, and the general public at all times.
  • Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time,
  • Strict adherence to the Pennsy Supply, Inc. Safety Manual.
  • Strict adherence to the Pennsy Supply, Inc. policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as assigned.
