Summary  

This position is responsible for performing administrative duties for the HR department working with the HR Managers & VP HR.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for own personal safety at all times as well as maintaining the highest standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job. Be familiar with and follow Oldcastle’s 14 Fundamentals for Fatality Elimination.
  • Create purchase orders for department requisitions.
  • Assist with the quarterly company newsletter.
  • Assist with entering of new hires and changes into ViewPoint.
  • Answer phone calls or respond to emails and provide exceptional customer service to employees and candidates.
  • Compliance with Sarbanes Oxley for all compliance measures established for benefits and various payroll activities.
  • Coordinate training schedules such as safety training, leadership training and other internal trainings at the corporate training center.
  • File employee information in personnel folders, medical folders, and FMLA folders.
  • Complete both verbal and written employment verification.
  • Maintain DOT driver qualification files for Operations.
  • Enter new hires and terminations in Benefit Solver system.
  • Assist in coordination of HR events, such as Annual Miller-Clark Award, bi-annual employee evaluation process, employee layoff, and annual employee picnic.
  • Guide employees through pre-employment by submitting background checks and scheduling physicals/drug screens.
  • Assist with interviewing and new employee orientation.
  • Participate in job fairs, mock interviews and other recruiting meetings/presentations.
  • Assist with filing, scanning, copying, and shredding of documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Other requirements

  • Current Driver’s License and reliable source of transportation.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, customers, and the general public at all times.
  • Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
  • Strict adherence to the Pennsy Supply, Inc. Safety Manual.
  • Strict adherence to the Pennsy Supply, Inc. policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as assigned.

 

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 Years HR Administrative experience preferred.
