Job Summary


Oldcastle APG, Inc. is currently seeking a 3D Modeler with Landscape Design/Architecture experience within their expanding Belgard Design Studio division.    This dynamic position will require a minimum of 2 years of experience with 3D Modeling, as well as some field experience in designing, selling, and expediting a variety of landscape installations, preferably both residential and commercial.   A minimum of 2 years of both modeling and landscape design education is also required, although we will consider less years of education depending on years of experience in the industry and mastery of skills.   


It is imperative that applicant understand the installation process, particularly in the realm of hardscaping and outdoor living projects.   Applicant must also possess a thorough understanding and mastery of Trimble Sketchup.   Having additional background in other design software would be a plus.   The entire position revolves around the daily conversion of 2 Dimensional designs into 3 Dimensional Photorealistic renders and animations.


Applicant must also possess the following skills:


  • Artistic Eye - It is imperative that applicant have a discerning eye in regards to landscape design.   If applicant is interviewed, a portfolio of projects will be required – both 2D and 3D examples. Must have a thorough understanding of hardscape and masonry products – as well as plants and other landscape related products.
  • Attention to Detail – Applicant must aim for accuracy and focus on details.  
  • Personable customer relations/ phone skills - Position will require daily interaction between a variety of clients, including but not limited to landscape contractors, architects, specifiers, homeowners, sales reps, and government personnel.  
  • Ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously - From small residential outdoor living areas, large estates, commercial developments, and municipal projects.  
  • Hand Rendering Ability/CAD Background - This is a large factor when determining applicants.   Must have a mastery/understanding of basic landscape design techniques as well as Trimble Sketchup.  
  • Other Software/Video Production/Editing - It would also be helpful if applicant has a background in Photoshop, AVID Studio, and/or any other photo and video editing software. The position will require the creation of videos and animations for clients and presentation purposes.  An understanding of social media, mobile apps, and web technology is also a plus.




  • 3D Modeling – Applicant will be working directly with clients to design and convert 2D plans to 3D.   Must be able to perform multiple items simultaneously and will be responsible for managing workflow, turning around projects in a timely manner, and billing.    Being fast and accurate is a necessity.
  • Marketing – Applicant will also be working closely with the sales and marketing teams within Oldcastle.  Must be able to interact well with others, and participate as a team.
