The Business & Technology Analyst’s role is to collect, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of business & technology stakeholders. This includes interviewing stakeholders and gathering and compiling requirements to understand the solutions that may be needed. The Business Analyst will also apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help business & technology stakeholders make good decisions. The Business Analyst will also be proactive and look for new ways to optimize business processes. The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring IT’s understanding of business requirements.




Support Partner 


The Business & Technology analyst is a trusted advisor for the CIO and may be called upon to support technology organization through:


  • Strategically managing a leader’s time:
  • Meeting preparation and follow up
  • Managing the internal communications plan; drafting newsletters, reports, pitch decks or presentations
  • Providing operational support by taking on day-to-day tasks, as needed
  • Assess issues that serve as barriers to a team or organization operating at maximum effectiveness


Meeting & Event Preparation 


  • A Business & Technology analyst is responsible for managing the meeting cadence for the leadership team, ensuring materials are sent in advance, time is well spent, and objectives are achieved.
  • The Business & Technology Analyst will also lead the planning and execution of special technology events, such as townhalls, Lunch and Learns.


Project Management 


A Business & Technology analyst oversees Quick-win, cross-functional projects or initiatives. Additionally, they are also responsible for:


  • Collaborating with business & technology stakeholders to determine project scope and vision Researching, benchmarking, analyzing data, and making recommendations.
  • Creating systems and processes to streamline operations.
  • Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.
  • Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements– verbally or through written documentation – to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
  • Provide guidance and/or instruction to junior staff members.


Position Requirements


Formal Education & Certification


  • College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, finance, or information systems.
  • Three+ years related work experience.


Knowledge & Experience


  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
  • Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of technology processes &  solutions.
  • Exceptional analytical and statistical skills with the ability to apply them to issues as required.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and project management software skills, including planning, organizing, and managing resources.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Powerpoint is essential
