Position Overview

 

As part of the global diversified building materials group, CRH, Americas Materials (AMAT) is currently recruiting for the position of Manager, Accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis (“FP&A”) within the Corporate Finance team based in Atlanta, GA. The successful candidate will be expected to bring significant experience to the role and will gain a comprehensive understanding of the processes underlying the production of financial and management support information for a publicly listed company.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

  • Perform the monthly closing and forecasting process for the Group and provide high quality, timely and accurate information to the President, CFO and supporting functions
  • Complete an in depth analytical analysis of the monthly performance
  • Key leader in serving as business partner to the senior CRH leadership including CFO in the monthly close, forecasting, FP&A and the annual development of the strategic plan
  • Performs financial analysis related to sales, volumes, price, gross margin, SG&A, working capital, capital investments, rate of return, financial performance and other financial metrics
  • Leads analysis and preparation of reports, graphs and charts with strong focus on providing new and insightful analysis to senior management
  • Analyze operational and financial data, investigate variances, identify business drivers and evaluate their impact on planned objectives, compile meaningful variance analysis commentary for management
  • Provides support in gathering analyzing and consolidating the annual budget and strategic plan while serving as a liaison between finance, senior management, divisions and operating companies.
  • Foster an environment that promotes CRH’s goals, principles and encourages continuous improvement
  • Compilation of interim and year-end financial reporting packages for public stock exchange disclosure
  • Liaising with external and internal auditors
  • Assist in ongoing process improvement and automation of the reporting systems; Hyperion Planning, HFM
  • Work with the Corporate Controller on documentation and implementation of procedures as needed
  • Ad hoc projects as needed

 

Qualifications

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Education/Experience

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related field
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience in a public accounting firm or in industry
  • Certifications – CPA, CMA, MBA, CA preferred
  • Previous relevant experience in an operations/manufacturing environment preferred

 

Work Requirements

 

  • Must have high proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

 

  • High intellectual rigor and curiosity
  • Strong financial and analytical background is essential
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and consolidation systems such as Hyperion Financial Manager or Hyperion Planning preferred
  • Advanced analytical skills with a high attention to detail
  • Action oriented and effectively drives for results
  • Reliable to carry out tasks independently and collaboratively
  • A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to challenge others, lead discussions, and influence ideas and convey opinions to all levels
