Position Overview

 

The Manager, IT Finance & Administration position is responsible for working closely with IT management to design and direct all functional areas within the IT Finance organization, including IT financial processes, policies, and procedures. The successful candidate is a well-rounded, experienced leader with proven experience in managing and analyzing IT financials. He/she will be a detailed oriented, analytical professional with excellent communication skills – able to speak to technical details, as well as summarize complex technical terms into easy to understand concepts for non-IT business leaders.  The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can balance administrative tasks with project execution.  They must be keenly skilled to meet demanding commitments and manage communications with/between executives, stakeholders, and technical teams. 

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

  • Oversee the planning and/or implementation of assigned enterprise IT financial projects through the full life cycle from project definition and approval through implementation and evaluation of all project deliverables.
  • Design, develop and manage IT budget, forecast and actual spend for IT cost centers, following proper accounting practices and ensuring proper support.
  • Track and manage acquisition and integration activities and support, including the development of an acquisition dashboard within the Apptio TBM tool
  • Develop a clearly defined month end closing calendar and process to support the timely submittal of month end entries and ensure compliance by IT financial team
  • Develop reporting within Apptio that mirrors our Corporate Finance Hyperion reports and establish a cadence to ensure we have information to support monthly executive financial summary reports to be shared with Corp Finance
  • Develop and maintain metrics regarding IT financial performance
  • Work closely with IT Executive Leadership Team (ELT), other levels of management and Corporate finance to ensure the timely, accurate and comprehensive analysis of IT financial data.
  • Leverage the Apptio Technology Business Management (TBM) tool to evolve overall technology reporting and educate broader IT team and organization.
  • Day to day management, training and oversight of the IT finance department employees
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Build, develop, and grow relationships vital to the success of the IT finance function.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

Education/Experience

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of IT financial experience or business finance/accounting with supporting IT knowledge.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or another relevant field.
  • Experience working in complex, distributed business preferred.
  • Extensive experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Strong competency with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • TBM or similar IT financial platforms a plus.
  • Understanding infrastructure technologies and technology service management a plus.
  • Six Sigma, Lean or other TQM certification a plus.

 

Work Requirements

 

  • May require up to 30% travel in North America

  • Must be extremely detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication.
  • Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability.
  • Must have experience in managing and working with distributed team members.
