Position Overview

 

OMG has a team focused on identifying best practices from across the company. This team leads Project Compass, through which we are improving, validating, and implementing standard practices in all divisions. Project Compass is focused on back­office work streams including order processing, procure to pay, payroll, job billing, human resources, and finance. There are champions from each division representing each work stream guiding subject matter experts (SMEs) who collaborate on process improvement opportunities.

 

This will be a full­time, permanent position. The person in this role will gain experience through cross functional, cross business unit, and senior management exposure. In addition, the person in this role will be leading strategic, companywide key initiative(s) providing them an opportunity to develop project leadership and strategic management skills.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

  • Drive and manage the efforts for a work­stream.
  • Implement standard processes, tools, and approaches at local company site(s).
  • Develop division champions and SME’s to create a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Adapt processes to changing business conditions to ensure the long­term success of the initiative.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

 

Qualifications

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Education/Experience

 

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.  Demonstrate business acumen in accounting, finance, or IT or have related process enhancement experience, preferably with an Oldcastle business

 

Work Requirements

 

  • Candidate will be required to travel up to 60% of the time. The selected individual must be willing and able to travel when and where appropriate.

  • Able to communicate with others by telephone, via electronic communication (email, webinar, etc.) and in person.
  • Able to utilize a computer for word processing, email communication, and preparation of documents and presentations. May require sitting for extended periods of time.

 

Work Environment

 

  • Office work environment including equipment such as a computer, telephone, and projector.
  • The position may require work outside of normal business hours
