Job Summary

 

The National Media Relations and Events Manager is responsible for the development and delivery of both internal and client-facing communications and national events event project management for Oldcastle Precast North America division. 

Duties include but not limited to, arranging speaking opportunities for senior management, public relations opportunities with the media, managing pre and post event marketing campaigns, determining appropriate booth assets and layout for events, driving the development of graphics and messaging in line with branding guidelines and to target specific markets, securing meeting space, coordinating on-site meetings, debriefing, ensuring lead follow-up process is followed etc. 

This position is also tasked with ensuring that Oldcastle Precast’s name and brand are prevalent in the defined marketplace and in all circumstances reflects the Oldcastle Precast positioning.  Additionally, the position will liaise and collaborate with sales and product development resources to support and execute effective demand and lead generation initiatives.

 

Essential  Functions

 

  • Develop and distribute an annual Trade/Events Show calendar to all Regions.
  • Sourcing, profiling, contracting, executing trade show events, including sponsorships, exhibit space, travel/accommodation, and onsite management.
  • Support regions in events and PR capacity – providing direction, input and support to regions to ensure consistency in Oldcastle Precast presence.
  • Project manage all aspects of conference and trade events activities, including event show guides, private meeting schedules, bios, agendas, dinner invitations, event assessment, survey and engagement tracking.
  • Help lead the communications, speaker proposal and project management strategy for National trade show events while also supporting regional activities.
  • Draft editorials, blog posts, announcements and pitch letters; build media lists.
  • Responsible for crafting internal and external e-newsletters, announcements, product launches, award programs and other Precast deliverables.
  • Select and purchase event giveaways and tradeshow uniforms.
  • Identify, prepare and submit relevant Industry Awards submissions.
  • Lead research to identify strategic media targets and collaborate on the development of media strategies.
  • Develop, communicate and implement annual media strategy; monitor media coverage and prepare monthly reports.
  • Develop on-pagers, fact sheets, executive bios and backgrounders on key topics.
  • Management of press inquiries and management of day-to-day activities of media plan.
  • Manage and distribute all Precast Press Releases on Awards, worthy news, new product launches etc.

 

Skill Requirements

 

  • BA degree in public relations, journalism, marketing or related field
  • 7+years of relevant experience in public relations, media relations, marketing.
  • Strong project/event management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
  • Excellent communicator, able to work as a team member and provide extensive support to Senior Level Managers as well as other personnel.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a “Make It Happen” approach.
  • High ethical and professional standards – honesty, integrity and common sense.
  • Self-motivated and versatile.
  • Project Management skills and understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment and focus on the delivery of results.
