Position Title:  Production Supervisor

Departments:   Doors, Frames
Reports To:  Production manager


Job Summary


This position directs and coordinates the flow of products through a specific department. He or she manages materials and manpower to maximize productivity while maintaining a forward-looking focus in order to minimize interruptions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Perform the job functions of their subordinates during periods of significant absenteeism
  • Communicate with the proper departments to resolve detected errors or conflicts within production paperwork
  • Process data input/output tasks
  • Confirm, audit and monitor the receipt of materials necessary to complete scheduled production
  • Assign tasks to balance throughput and ensure strict adherence to safety rules and regulations
  • Treat coworkers with respect and courtesy
  • Support the “flex” policy which requires interdepartmental training across all disciplines and departments


Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements


  • Read, analyze and schedule production requirements via data from paperwork or computer monitors
  • Inspect ID markings, labeling and workers required documentation to ensure shipping accuracy
  • Capable of reading tape measure, digital calipers, gauges, and interface with the production data base
  • Excellent ability to measure and perform simple calculations from documentation and memory
  • Monitor subordinate activities and ensure that “safety first” and quality are primary principals
  • Posses the people skills required to achieve synergy and harmony while balancing workloads
  • Good computer skills
  • Experience working with manufacturing software a plus


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to stoop/squat occasionally (0-32x/shift)
  • Ability to bend/twist, carry, and reach frequently (33-200x/shift)
  • Ability to stand and walk constantly (201x/shift)
  • Must have the ability to lift 50-70 lbs occasionally and 15-30 lbs frequently
  • Must have the ability to push/pull 35-50 lbs occasionally and 15-30 lbs frequently
  • Weight over 50lbs or 12' in length requires team lift or mechanical
  • Standing and walking on a concrete floor; wearing steel-toed shoes and other safety equipment for eight hours or more daily
  • Ability to work in a noisy, dusty environment under varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (Heat, cold, humidity, etc.)




  • Computer terminal, saws, punch/roller/drill  presses, pneumatic and electric hand tools, welder, crimper, end mill, grinder, sander, pallet jack and fork lifts
