Job Summary


Oldcastle Stormwater  works with engineers, owners, contractors, and government agencies to help them meet their stormwater management objectives.  We are a team of experienced stormwater specialists developing new products and individual solutions to meet evolving stormwater regulations intended to protect the environment.  The company offers a complete line of stormwater treatment, detention, retention and infiltration systems.  These systems are manufactured by Oldcastle Infrastructure concrete plants in over 50 locations throughout the United States.  From the start of construction to the completion of any project, Oldcastle Stormwater offers a turn-key approach to meet each client’s stormwater management needs.


Structural Engineers work with internal and external clients to ensure that project solutions designed to meet stormwater and treatment requirements also meet structural requirements. Structural Engineers also develop the structural components of new products. Structural Engineers proactively support the field sales team to establish and build civil engineering customer relationships and meet the commercial objectives of the company.


Oldcastle Stormwater is currently looking for a Structural Engineering Manager who is a professional structural engineer (PE or SE) with 8+ years of experience to provide project analysis and build and lead a structural engineering team to support an aggressive company growth plan.  The design team works with customers across the country but travel is limited.  The successful candidate will work from the Oldcastle Infrastructures  corporate office in Atlanta, Georgia.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Build and lead a team of structural engineers to support stormwater products design.
  • Present project-specific solutions to civil engineering customers.
  • Provide high-quality design calculations, basic illustrations, and advice to integrate and secure Stormwater products on site plans.
  • Respond to civil engineering clients on project-specific inquiries and product structural requirements.
  • Establish and maintain rapport with civil engineer customers.
  • Support field and internal team members to achieve team goals.
  • Assist sales team during the project bid phase by providing design review and confirming appropriate product design.
  • Provide project and technical support for submittal drawings, production and product delivery.
  • Assign work to team members, provide feedback and period review for team members.
  • Maintain engineering standards and procedures.
  • Ensure pertinent project information is accurately entered into the database.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications


  • Degree in Civil Engineering and Professional Engineer certification (Structural Engineer certification preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience with solid background in structural design.
  • Experience in reinforced concrete.
  • Experience in retaining walls.
  • Experience in shallow foundations.
  • Finite Element analysis of structures preferred.
  • Ability to prepare and review standard engineering documentation and plans.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor other engineers.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for the business and achieving organizational goals.
  • Team player able to share thoughts openly, accept new ideas and get the job done in a highly interactive process.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, data base management software, basic CAD).
