Summary

 

The Pacific Northwest Regional Accountant insures that regional and location level accounting processes are effective in recognizing financial activity, are efficient in nature, and provide actionable information to both regional and location management. Under guidance of the Regional Controller, this position will work closely with process owners, key stakeholders and the regional accounting team to insure process meet business demands. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Accounts Payable Process Support

 

  • AP payment issue resolution
  • AP Payment Review
  • Oversight of Freight Liability and Invoice processing
  • Manage “Received not Invoiced”

 

Sales Order Process

 

  • Daily review of new sales orders, margin review, and order deviation detection.
  • Daily processing of Sales invoices, pack slip processing, and record retention.
  • Oversight of Sales Tax charged during invoice process. Insure exemptions on file and correct tax rates applied.
  • Issuance of credits and debits in support of returns, and sales order process correction.
  • Support location management in sales list price maintenance
  • Request lean releases, bonds, certificate of insurance

 

Accounts Receivable

 

  • Credit Card processing
  • Aid in AR escalation process

 

Payroll

 

  • Hours reporting and posting to GL and Job Cost
  • Prevailing Wage and Certified Payroll Reporting

 

Manufacturing Process Reporting

 

  • Posting of Manufacturing Work Order activity, material consumption, labor hours
  • Daily Manufacturing report review, variance review, resolution, & corrective action
  • Support location management in BOM revisions and cost changes

 

Inventory

 

  • Process intra-region inventory transfers through Intercompany sales process, insure transactions net appropriately.
  • Initiate Cycle Counts for cause
  • Oversight and participation in location Physical Inventories

 

Financial Reporting

 

  • Month End Financial Close process support
  • Capital expenditure support, capitalization, and asset management

 

Qualifications

 

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
  • Capable of managing business processes, initiating process improvements, and insuring process compliance.
  • Solid grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Internal Controls
  • Solid grasp of manufacturing process accounting and logistics planning
  • Use of Kaizen or other Continuous Improvement framework in a business process setting
  • Maintain process discipline in a fast pace, multi-task environment, while meeting daily reporting milestones.

 

Experience

 

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting role preferred, with preference place on experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven track record of working directly with key location stakeholders such as plant managers, general manager, and location functional management.

 

Job Skills and Education

 

  • BS degree in Accounting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency at an intermediate level in Microsoft Excel.
  • Comfortable working in Tier 1 ERP systems such as MS AX, Oracle, JD Edwards, or SAP
  • Familiar with relational data base concept, process of normalizing data and data extraction from ERP Client.
