Job Description Summary
 

The Product Coordinator will plan, direct and schedule/coordinate all activities of daily wet-utility production (wet cast/dry cast) designated projects from the point of sale to completion to ensure that the projects are accomplished on time and in conformance with all the terms and conditions of the contracts. Overall, this person will be responsible for our dry cast operation that makes up the wet utility division of our business and will act as the main contact person for the customer and all vendors on a particular project. Directly responsible for monitoring the project costs and compliance with contract documents, attending job meetings and protecting Oldcastle’s interest throughout the entire process.
 

Job Responsibilities
 

  • Responsible for managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Upon project assignment, shares responsibility with the Salesperson to hold a Turnover/Kick Off meeting at the point of sale to ensure all needed information and paperwork are complete; that the scope of work is clear; review the estimate and confirm values for all items; and begins the process of scheduling the project with the precast concrete production facility
  • Prepare and manage the required production submittals/approvals as required
  • Coordinate projects through each of the internal divisions (Accounting, Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and Transportation) to insure the project remains on agreed upon schedules with the customer
  • Monitor the progress and status of each assigned project as it moves through the process, and acts to problem solve proactively, offers technical advice, and assists other staff so as to expedite assigned projects, removes obstacles which may cause a project to fall behind schedule
  • Assist with Coordination of deliveries for customers. (Works closely with Transportation Manager)
  • Call contractors daily to establish production and delivery timelines
  • Purchas special products for wet-utility business. (Doors, castings, boots, etc…)
  • Maintain/establish Inventory levels for finished goods, raw materials & resale items for wet-utility business
  • Prepare any applicable Change Order Proposals in a timely manner
  • Work with the customer to ensure that all issues and needs which arise from the point of sale to completion of the project are resolved promptly, including but not limited to change orders, adjustments to schedule and collection activity as appropriate to each assigned project
  • Work with other the sales team, other project managers, and the internal divisions to manage the long term schedule in order to minimize conflicts with resources, equipment, labor, etc. Requirements
  • Prioritize large to small complex projects and manage timelines to meet submittal deadlines and customer delivery dates

 

Qualifications / Requirements
 

  • Must have strong customer service skills
  • Ability to deal with challenging situations
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to review and work from production schematics and engineering drawings
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to become familiar with production equipment and capabilities
