Job Description Summary

 

In this role, you will assist with and perform tasks in precast concrete, quality control, engineering design, drafting, and production. You will be responsible for providing technical support for products and processes.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Understand product design and strength requirements, concrete mix designs and serve as a technical coordinator for plant quality control programs, concrete testing, and quality assurance processes
  • Assist in and perform calculations for design to support sales quotation and submittal preparation for precast concrete infrastructure and products
  • Perform and direct ACAD drafting of projects and products
  • Support plant with cost savings projects related to process or product design
  • Participate in design documentation made available to sales and production teams for all products
  • Contribute to zero injury safety culture by providing recommendations for manufacturing and equipment design
  • Provide technical support for plant capital projects and new equipment installation
  • Regular travel to Oldcastle’s Rehoboth, MA plant for training and work assignments. Occasional travel to other Oldcastle facilities.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree
  • Registered EIT or ability to secure certificate in a maximum of 2 years
  • Ability to obtain ACI Concrete Technicians License Grade 1 within 6 months
  • Ability to obtain PCI Quality Level I & II within 1 year. PCI Level III in 2 years
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, and be able to perform structural design calculations
  • Ability to use a variety of computer programs, including Excel, Word, MathCAD and AutoCAD with one year minimum experience
  • Basic knowledge of ASSHTO and ACI 318 and other applicable design codes
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Manage projects and Quality Control programs and perform duties on schedule with expected quality results
  • Ability to interact with engineering agency officials, managers, engineers, drafters, customers and other employees to resolve quality and engineering and management related issues
