We need an experienced, energized and professional sales representative to work in an assigned territory with an office in Bellevue, WA. Administer sales activities within the assigned territory.  Sell and promote all Ash Grove products to current and potential customers.  Provide quality customer service.  Work under general supervision with specified policies, procedures and performance goals.  


Primary Duties & Responsibilities


  • Establish and maintain contact with ready mix and concrete products manufacturers, dealers and other contractors in assigned territory.  Visit customer, potential customer, and contractor job sites on a regular basis.
  • Sell Ash Grove products in a cost-effective manner by giving promotional presentations and participating in promotional meetings and seminars.  
  • Call on assigned contractors before and after bid lettings to obtain information, contracts and product price information.  Track and record bids utilizing Bid History and SFDC.
  • Attend assigned bid lettings and participate in the strategic planning, pricing and bidding of special projects and construction work in assigned territory.  
  • Provide quality customer service.  Assist Technical Service Manager and Research Lab in resolving customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Use of technical sales approach is required to offer value and sales professionalism which includes technical training and knowledge of cement and concrete. This includes ACI Field 1 certification by all of our sales representatives.
  • Keep Credit Department advised of any existing or potential credit problems along with providing financial information on current and prospective accounts.
  • Assess and inform management of opportunities and competitive conditions in assigned territory.
  • Organize and execute plant tours for customers and participate whenever possible.
  • Make promotional calls on DOT’s, City/County Engineers and Public Works, Consultants, Geo-techs in your territory.  Maintain an up to date contact list.  At least one prescheduled visit to either private consulting/design firm, local, county or state agencies per week.
  • Collaborate with other employees of the company to coordinate and improve marketing, advertising, promotion, pricing, service, credit and delivery.
  • Participate in State and Regional Concrete Associations and provide leadership in those organizations to benefit Ash Grove.
  • Maximize sales budget to maintain long-term relationships with current customers and to develop relationships with potential customers.


Desired Skills and Experience


  • Knowledge of sales policies, procedures and techniques.
  • Strategic planning, problem solving, decision making, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, primarily in MS Office and Google Mail




  • Preferred 5 plus years of sales experience. Industry experience is a plus




  • Four-year college degree (B.S. or B.A. degree) preferred
