Position Overview

Lubrication position- Responsible to inspect, lubricate, maintain, and repair equipment in the plant. Must be willing overtime, and accept call-out (after hours and on weekends).


Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as a role model in the areas of leadership, teamwork, customer focus, safety, and environmental stewardship to ensure alignment with company’s goals and objectives.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures and practices.
  • Perform checking, replacing or adding lubricant for all equipment of the plant.
  • Perform oil sampling program.
  • Follow SPCC and environmental controls for oil spills and storage of used lubricants products.
  • Perform lubrication using the UT device.
  • Assure all grease points are accessible and clean all times.
  • Must participate in good housekeeping practices using the 5S Housekeeping Program for equipment that requiring lubrication.
  • Must participate in good housekeeping practices using the 5S Housekeeping Program, for the lubrication rooms such as compressors room, roller mill hydraulic room, grate cooler hydraulic room, etc.
  • Organize lubrication room and storage. Assure all containers are well identified.
  • Inspect and repair equipment such as: couplings, gearbox, pumps and bearings.
  • Monitor of Kiln girth gear and thrust system
  • Identify correct and clean oil and grease leaks problems.
  • Perform basic mechanical equipment troubleshooting.
  • Perform rigging and lifting of heavy loads.
  • Inspect and repair compressors
  • Inspect and repair heater exchanger equipment.
  • Inspect, repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Must be able to operate mobile equipment.
  • Must have basic welding skills, including proper grounding and setup.
  • Must have basic torch skills.
  • Must have basic piping skills.
  • Must have knowledge of prints and sketches
  • Must complete all daily logs including but not limited to workplace inspections, emergency issue reporting, work orders, departmental logs and reports. 
  • Must understand and perform root cause analysis.
  • Assist with other departmental needs as required.



High School Graduate, GED, or Trade School



  • 1- 2 years related experience in Mechanical Maintenance repair in an industrial environment preferably in a cement plant


  • Must be able to weld, cut, and use standard maintenance-shop type machinery
  • Must be able to show and take initiative based on sound problem solving skills
  • Able to operate mobile equipment including Bobcat, Condor, and Forklift
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders, work on catwalks or other unusual work areas
  • Good communication skills for use with co-workers, contractors, completing reports, etc.
  • Able to show and take initiative based on sound problem solving skills.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and shift work.
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to complete quality work in a timely fashion, without rework.
  • Able to perform heavy lifting/physically demanding work for prolonged periods of time in extremes of climate/temperature.
