Please note that this position can be based in Corner Brook or Long Pond, NL

Reporting to the logistic manager and in collaboration with dispatch and the sales manager, the incumbent must :

  • Supervise the personnel of the 3 distribution centers in New Foundland (unionized and non-unionized);
  • Manage the running of operations of loading and unloading with compliance with the company’s policies in regards to health, safety and environment; carry out investigations/analysis on OH&S incidents;
  • Supervise the maintenance and ensure good functioning of the equipment and ensure that the preventative maintenance program is maintained;
  • Optimize the utilization rate of the equipment;
  • Supervise the operations: orders/receiving and unloading;
  • Document and order requisitions, supervise maintenance, provide incident reports and IT requests;
  • Complete various reports related to distribution; 
  • Maintain communication and transfers between terminals and vessel operations (unloading, temporary employees management)
  • Inventory control, prevent rupture of stocks by taking the necessary actions;
  • Ensure the dispatch replacement when needed; (Vacancy)
  • Ensure monthly communication process personnel and other parties;
  • Participate in the implementation of various distribution programs (OHS, KPI, ENV etc.);
  • Perform all other related tasks.

 

Your profile:

  • College Degree, an asset;
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in employees supervision;
  • Or both combination of relevant studies and work related experience;
  • Experience in staff management and budget management knowledge;
  • Logistic and operations knowledge as well as strong maintenance background;
  • Familiar with union collective agreement bargaining;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French is an asset);
  • Proficient in use of computer, knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP;
  • Available for frequent travel by ground and air;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Be available 24 hrs/7 days;
  • Leadership oriented towards team work, results, customer satisfaction and communication;
  • Problem solving skills, leadership ability, team player, good customer approach and excellent listening skills;
  • Strong abilities in planning, organization and priorities management;
  • High resistance to stress.
