Job Summary

 

The Human Resources Manager manages day to day operations of the human resources office, while carrying out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation & payroll, recruiting and staffing, policy development, and regulatory compliance such as employment laws, affirmative action and safety.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Manager HR operations by recruiting, interviewing, selecting, orienting, training and managing the workforce.
  • Partner with employees and management to communicate various HR policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
  • Support management by providing HR advise, counsel, and decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local law by reviewing existing and new legislation; anticipate legislation, enforce adherence to regulations, and advising management on requirements.
  • Develops and maintains facility's affirmative action program to ensure regulatory compliance. Evaluate reports, decisions and results in relation to established goals.
  • Research, develop, update and maintain organizational HR policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.
  • Represent the company in investigating, answering and settling employee relation grievances such as EEOC, NLRB, ADA, and unemployment and make resolution recommendations as needed to senior management.
  • Annually review and analyze compensation program, conduct salary surveys and monitor performance evaluations.
  • Develop facility specific training and facilitate and/or provide training to workforce as well as implement and facilitate corporate initiative training programs.
  • Maintain and coordinate employee recognition program.
  • Administer all company health & welfare benefits, including 401K.
  • Maintain the workforce's personnel and payroll files and databases.
  • Prepares, finalizes and transmits payroll records to ensure accurate processing.
  • Manage workforce annual OSHA-required hearing tests and blood lead-level tests.  
  • Investigate, file, and monitor all work-related disability claims through insurance carrier and, as applicable, the State.
  • Oversee the facility's safety committee meetings.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies, and procedures are essential functions of your job.

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements

 

  • Bachelors Degree.
  • 3 plus years HR generalist experience in a manufacturing.
  • 3 plus years payroll processing experience.
  • Previous Affirmative Action experience.
  • Strong Organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work.  
  • Strong MS Office.
  • Very strong verbal and written communications skills.  
  • Safety management experience strongly recommended.
  • Previous computer experience mandatory with a knowledge of Windows and HRIS.
