Job Summary

 

Since 1989, AERT has pioneered the use of recycled polyethylene plastic in the manufacture of composite building materials. AERT has been widely recognized as a leader in re-source conservation innovation and received the EPA Award for Environ-mental Excellence for its process of converting scrap plastic to composite outdoor decking. AERT has an immediate opening for a Retail Box Store Sales Rep responsible for traveling in an assigned territory with home base in the Upper Midwest. This position requires traveling and visiting home improvement stores within the assigned territory.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Improving and leading the assigned territory to increase sales at all home improvement stores
  • Developing great relationships with Store Managers, District Managers, Market Directors and Regional Vice-Presidents
  • Leading and coordinating sales functions; stock programs and special order opportunities
  • Traveling assigned territory to call on home improvement stores – ensuring that allocated space is utilized and that product is properly displayed
  • Preparing reports of business transactions
  • Monitoring stock levels of stock product in each store and promote other AERT products
  • Coordinating and conducting training on our products for store personnel
  • Attending trade home shows
  • Investigating and, if applicable, resolving customer complaints and claims to reinforce the relationship between customer and local store
  • Making sales call with the Retailers outside sales team
  • Developing new deck and dock builder contacts through cold calling and referral methods
  • Monitoring POP (Point of Purchase) needs and facilitate special order opportunities and stock programs
  • Representing and being the face of AERT with professionalism, ethics, attitude, safety, quality, and adherence to company policies and procedures

 

Basic Qualifications
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a 4 year college
  • 4+ years sales related experience (equivalent education/experience will be considered)
  • Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record

 

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities
 

  • Strong ability to sell with exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience with the building materials industry and home improvement stores
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Requires strong communication, planning, and organization skills in managing others as well as influencing and building partnerships.
  • Requires strong interpersonal skills with a sense of urgency and teamwork
  • Must have the ability to lift and move the product as necessary
