Traffic Control Foreman


Job Description Summary

This is a skilled position requiring the individual to manage and maintain all aspects relative to Traffic Control within in the construction division. Must be UDOT Traffic Control certified with current onsite traffic control experience.


Supervise all traffic control 

• Includes monitoring certifications.

• Training for all types of jobsite applications.

• Supervise traffic control labor costs that affect the job costs (Overtime, midday slow periods, and required traffic control inspections during non-work days)


Help Maintain and schedule the use of traffic control devices.

• Work with traffic control warehouse to maintain inventory, evaluate devices, schedule devices and track usage and misuse.

• Work with traffic control warehouse to deliver and stage traffic control needs for specific jobsites.


Collect and file traffic control data.

• Responsibilities to include collecting and sorting all of the traffic control documentation that is generated from all of the different projects.

• Data to include daily inspection reports, daily notes, video logs, incident and accident documentation.

• Insure that all jobsite traffic control data gets filed in each individual job folder for future reference.

• Organize daily work on the assigned project and direct crew employees.

• Be responsible for materials delivered to the project.

• Keep time for employees and prepare daily reports.

• Care of equipment and vehicles

• Standard Driver’s License is required.

  • Must be able to pass a DOT medical exam



• High school diploma or General Education Degree GED is required.

• 3-5 years previous related experience in the construction field is required.


Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move any where up to 75 lbs. Physical agilities test may be required. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat.
