Summary

 

Responsibilities include leading a Production team, and managing all aspects of a fast paced (multi-shift, multi machine) concrete products manufacturing facility. Daily duties include monitoring daily key point measures, budgets, safety, production flow and material costs. Additional responsibilities include motivating, training and directing Production Supervisors as well as entry level production workers. This is a management position with key responsibility and accountability for the bottom line results.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Concrete product knowledge and experience preferred. Preferably concrete pavers, concrete block, segmented retaining wall and patio stone products.
  • 3+ years Production supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing with Rekers equipment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of BOM’s and P & L analysis
  • Mix design experience and the use of concrete pigments in zero slump products preferred.
  • Product packaging experience preferred.
  • Responsible for planning and scheduling production activities, and supervising the production process.
  • Oversees the maintenance of all equipment including managing downtime.
  • Responsible for inventory control, counts and audits.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, quality, productivity, housekeeping, maintenance and environmental compliance.
  • Estimating production costs, maintaining high quality standards and ensuring good customer service.
  • Monitor product standards and implement quality control programs.
  • Ensures compliance with all local and federal environmental regulations.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent of 5+ years of progressive related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Prior production experience in a concrete products manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent planning, negotiating and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with closely with all departments within the organization to satisfy customer needs
  • Prior P & L experience is required.
  • Strong leadership skills while maintaining a team atmosphere.
  • Demonstrate ability to delegate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to operate in a systematic and logical manner.
  • Able to apply reasoning variables required to oversee a multi-million dollar business.
  • Ability to do root-cause problem solving
  • Must have basic mathematical skills with the knowledge to apply algebra and geometry elements to specific situations.
  • Conduct himself/herself with integrity and ethical practices.
  • Ability to handle physical requirements, including but not limited to, repeated bending, stretching, twisting and lifting.
  • Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Expected to travel both by vehicle and air.
