We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Lab Technician to join our Southwest Regional Team (Laurel, Fort Myers, Naples).

This QC Lab Technician performs routine testing of Hot Mix Asphalt and assists in adjustments to plant settings to ensure compliance with job and agency specifications.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily QC testing on Hot Mix Asphalt as required by governing agencies and at the discretion of the QC Manager
  • Perform data collection and reporting
  • Assist in mix design development and changes in plant production
  • Perform stockpile analysis on incoming aggregates and RAP stockpiles as needed

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma and/or GED Equivalent
  • Knowledge and ability to perform mathematical skills(adding, subtracting, division, multiplication, percentages and weights)
  • Minimum of six months experience in asphalt quality control needed
  • FDOT Asphalt Level I & II Training is preferred
  • Ability to perform strenuous work
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals
  • Ability to read and use measurement devices
  • Must be able to work weekends and nights as needed
  • Must possess a valid driver's license for the territory of operation
  • Must have some basic materials skills
  • Good penmanship, recordkeeping, and basic computer skills required
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively over the company radio communication system
