Summary  

Provide clerical and administrative support to the Accounting Department. Perform basic accounting functions at the direction of the accounting staff.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of various reconciliations, supporting documents and governmental filings
  • Key general journal and job cost entries into accounting software
  • Assist in the compilation and distribution of reports prepared by the Accounting Department
  • Administer compliance with general business terms of lease agreements
  • Manage document and record retention process. This function includes the sorting, filing and scanning of documents
  • Adhere to all internal controls, including the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley narratives
  • Prepare and book general ledger journal entries
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation schedules
  • Cash Management Accounting – Records bank charges and funds wired or received
  • Prepare census reports
  • Compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls and provide documentation when necessary
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned

 

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent; or 3 years of related experience

 

Qualifications

  • Ability to respond to stressful situations, co-workers and customers in a professional, courteous manner
  • Detailed oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the company
  • Ability to prioritize assignments to meet deadlines
  • Work effectively in a team environment or independently
  • Proficient with computer systems and various software applications
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Practice safe work habits (Safety First In Everything We Do)
  • Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check
