Responsible for performing Human Resource related duties on a professional level while partnering with managers to provide the appropriate level of support in the following areas:  employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, recruitment, affirmative action and employment law compliance. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Prepare and maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
  • Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
  • Hire employees and process hiring-related paperwork.
  • Assist and support managers in creating, revising job descriptions
  • Post-employment ads and maintain Success Factors online recruiting system
  • Inform job applicants of details of job offer including compensation, benefits, and coordination of pre-employment testing/paperwork.
  • Utilize Interview Architect for recruiting salaried employees
  • Partner with local trade schools and high schools to participate in career fairs and outreach activities.
  • Conduct reference or background checks on job applicants using third party service.
  • Schedule and conduct new employee orientations and training events   
  • Work with Supervisors and Managers to ensure that employee performance evaluations are completed in a timely manner.
  • Build trust among employees, managers and colleagues within the organization.
  • Conduct exit interviews and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed.
  • Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws.
  • Provide guidance and support to the organization which may include performance issues, PIP, job descriptions, terminations/disciplinary actions, layoffs, reduction in work force, EEO complaints/lawsuits.
  • Administers Affirmative Action and EEO programs.
  • Conduct internal investigations and prepare documentation of the results, provide corrective action recommendations.
  • Answer phone calls or respond to emails and provide exceptional customer service to employees and candidates.
  • Compliance with Sarbanes Oxley for all compliance measures established for benefits and various payroll activities.
  • Understand the laws, rules and regulations for the states that we operate in and be a resource for the organization.
  • Work with Third Party Administrator to conduct drug and alcohol testing.
  • Actively protect confidential information.
  • Local travel up to 25%
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Current Driver’s License and reliable source of transportation.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, customers, and the general public at all times.
  • Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
  • Strict adherence to the Pennsy Supply, Inc. Safety Manual.
  • Strict adherence to the Pennsy Supply, Inc. policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience


Language Skills


  • Able to effectively communicate in verbal and written form to employees, management, executives, and customers.
  • Must have excellent phone etiquette, speaking voice and professional appearance


Mathematical Skills


  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. 
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.


Reasoning Ability


  • Able to identify, define and resolve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Able to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical, written or oral form.
  • Able to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Able to interpret written and oral instructions, and to read, analyze, and interpret, operating & maintenance instructions or regulations.




  • Ability to handle stressful situations when dealing with customer demand, supervision of staff and scheduling.
