Position Overview

This position manages a focused team of buyers, purchase administrators and P2P KPI’s.  The position will coordinate local execution and adoption of sourced programs as well as drive the effective use of the standard P2P/Transactional purchasing processes and systems.  The position will also lead negotiations of local purchases as well as communicate and solicit feedback on existing programs to determine opportunities for improvement and to add additional value.


Key Responsibilities

Responsible for managing the Transactional Purchasing Team and Process for the Mida Group

  • Builds and manages effective teams and develops direct reports
  • Proficient in procurement processes, technologies and tools
  • Solid negotiation, project management and organizational skills
  • Business acumen and organizational knowledge/agility
  • Manage change through influence and collaboration
  • Effective communicator who can manage conflict


Manage the performance of the Transactional Purchase P2P process within the division

  • Drives for results and ensures accountability for key performance measure of the P2P process
  • Ensure consistency with OMG standards
  • Ensure that the company resources are in place and properly trained to meet the P2P and business requirements
  • Assist company purchasing personnel in resolving Help Desk and / or troubleshooting issues
  • Work with divisional finance management to ensure that the P2P and related processes meet the necessary Sarbanes-Oxley requirements


Support division efforts to drive cost reductions through the P2P process

  • Drive the use and adoption of sourcing initiated spend arrangements / agreements
  • Identify opportunities to reduce purchase prices and costs during the ordering / approval process
  • Work with the division’s Strategic Sourcing Group communicate and provide feedback on existing programs  or potential program opportunities


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor of Science or Business Administration or related degree required with over 4 years of business, procurement, accounting, finance or related experience. 
  • Effective team builder and leader with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team within a highly matrixed environment
  • Experience working with databases, data warehouse applications and / or ERP systems.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Knowledge of procurement tools and process management including: strategic sourcing processes; procurement best practices, procedures, and policies; and operating metrics would be beneficial.
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar certification desired
  • Experience in mining, construction or manufacturing would be beneficial
