Position Overview

 

This is a skilled position requiring the individual to be a licensed electrician and to perform installs and repairs of electrical systems and other electrical components pertaining to industrial machinery and equipment.  

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

  • Installs power supply wiring and conduits for machines and equipment.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Plans the layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in building and other facilities. 
  • Maintain all electrical aspects associated with the operations
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.  Seven years of electrician experience required.  Previous construction experience is a plus. 

 

Work Requirements

  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Read and comprehend complex written and verbal instructions, correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write complex correspondence. 
  • Carefully articulate and clearly communicate both specific technical information and creatively compose development strategies. 
  • Effectively participate in and speak to large groups.  Advanced presentation skills required.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to comprehend scientific formulas.   
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.  Ability to think through complex systems (human, mechanical, organizational, etc.) issues to derive potential solutions.
  • Detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to effectively navigate and research regulatory agency and industry related web content.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
