Position Overview

This is a skilled position where the employee will provide a variety of timely services for company employees and management staff including, but not limited to: compiling, creating, and updating employee HR/Health and Welfare/Payroll information; fielding phone calls; various HR/Payroll data entry, filing and other related duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Assist managers in posting jobs.
  • Conduct employee new hire and benefits orientation.
  • Timely employee file and record management, which includes tracking employee information,    compensation, benefits, tax, DOT, training, disciplinary actions, and termination data.
  • Maintain, organize, and monitor confidential employee information.
  • Assist with health and welfare, FMLA, STD, 401k, and other employee benefits administration.
  • Update employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses.
  • Administer/Coordinate DOT, I-9, drug testing, back ground screening, agilities testing and other human resource processes.
  • Generate, create, and maintain various reports as requested.
  • Assist with the coordination of employee training
  • Answer phone calls and assist employees with issues and questions related to HR, Payroll, Benefits, and other employment issues.
  • Assists with other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Ability to speak a foreign language a plus.
  • Must be able and willing to travel to site locations occasionally.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree GED is required.
  • One to Two years previous HR experience or related education is preferred.

 

Work Requirements

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
  • Ability to work remotely with little supervision.
  • Ability to do basic math.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Full Time Schedule general work time is from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday thru Friday.

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 25 lbs. Physical agilities test may be required.

Work Environment
