Position Overview

This is a skilled position overseeing the daily operations of the Evans office including assistance with all payroll and benefits activities; regulatory compliance; compiling, creating and updating information; fielding phone calls; assisting employees, officials and manager; scanning, filing and other HR, Payroll, and Safety related duties as assigned. 

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

Administrative Functions/Duties

  • Assist Managers in posting jobs and candidate selection.
  • Enter, maintain, and facilitate payroll records and activities.
  • Conduct new employee and benefits orientation.
  • Conduct various safety-related training as needed.
  • Employee file and record management, which includes tracking employee information, compensation, benefits, training, tax, DOT, safety, disciplinary actions and termination data.
  • Keep and monitor confidential employee information.
  • Administer benefits, FMLA, STD, 401k.
  • Updates employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses.
  • Administer/Coordinate DOT, I-9, drug testing, back ground screening, agilities testing and other human resource processes.
  • Incident report management to include company reports and internal spreadsheets
  • Facilitate OSHA, and MSHA reporting.
  • Training coordinator and record manager.
  • Answer phone calls and assist employees with issues and questions related to HR, Payroll, Benefits, and Safety.
  • Assists with other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Be on time and fit for duty as outlined in our company policy.

 

Office Supervisory Functions/Duties

  • Effectively manage an office staff of three (3) or more, including performance management, daily scheduling, and approving time cards as well as paid time off.
  • Ensure a safe, customer centric, and productive office environment.
  • Train or coordinate cross-training endeavors for office employees.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with various departments, their staff, and management using various media (voice, email, text, etc.)

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree GED is required.
  • Associates degree in a related field and or one or more years of previous HR experience is required. 

 

Work Requirements

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
  • Ability to do basic math.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Full Time Schedule 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday thru Friday.

  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 25 lbs. Physical agilities test may be required.
