Job Summary


Administers consumer products sales (cement mixes, cements, repair products and lawn & garden products) within the assigned territory to independent lumber yards, hardware stores and regional chains. Maintain positive customer relations with all accounts.


  • Establishes and maintains continual contact with customers, and strives toward obtaining and developing contact with potential customers in assigned territory.
  • Visits customer sites on a regular basis to sell new products, products that are not currently being used by the customer, troubleshoot problems, and monitor customer inventories.
  • Maintains required customer records including customer pricing information and name of contact person in each store.
  • Conducts clinics and seminars for customers to promote the use of products.
  • Consults with customers regarding product inquiries and resolves problems as needed to maintain respect and positive customer relations.
  • Promotes product through the use and maintenance of product information displays and literature mailed to customers.
  • Makes annual sales forecast of sales in each product category for yearly sales goals.
  • Determines annual sales for each assigned account and conducts store strategies to aid stores in reaching their predetermined sales forecast.
  • Maintains company vehicle by keeping it clean and following preventative maintenance schedules.


Required Minimum Qualifications


  • Knowledge of sales policies, procedures and techniques
  • Ability to learn product line in order to effectively sells the product to customers
  • Skills needed include strategic planning, problem solving, organization, customer relations, decision-making, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate a computer to maintain data and generate reports.
  • Four year college degree
  • 2+ years sales experience in a similar or related industry preferred
