Candidate will be placed in a formal training program with the intent to assume responsibility for the Quality Control operations for a division as opportunities become available.  Training for this position shall include but will not be limited to, Corporate Safety policies and practices, HMA Quality Control testing and inspection, HMA mix designs, HMA plant operations,  HMA paving operations, Aggregate production and Quality Control, Specifications, Estimating projects and other tasks as deemed necessary.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform Quality Control Testing of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) and associated materials as assigned.
  • Submit all test and inspection reports
  • Actively participate in weekly safety meetings (Tool Box Talks)
  • Ability to work long hours, some evenings and weekends
  • Assist in the review of contract documents and assist the manager in preparing the construction schedule
  • Duties and tasks may be modified by manager according to company needs


Education and/or Experience:

  • Previous HMA Lab experience preferred but not required.
  • Management experience preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Flexible, well organized, detail oriented and multi-tasked
  • Current HMA QC/QA Certifications preferred but not required.

  • Solid communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Dependability in meeting attendance guidelines
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Work well in group problem solving
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • ID problems, gather and analyze information and make appropriate recommendations


Physical Demands:

This position requires walking, standing, bending, sitting and lifting. 

Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs without assistance.
