Summary

The Quarry Lead Person position assists the Quarry Superintendent in carrying out their responsibilities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for own personal safety at all times as well as maintaining the highest standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job. Be familiar with and follow Oldcastle’s 14 Fundamentals for Fatality Elimination.
  • Effectively communicate with others.
  • Fill in for employees absent or excused from work.
  • Operate various pieces of equipment in the quarry operation.
  • Be able to task train employees on various pieces of equipment.
  • Assume responsibilities of the Superintendent in their absence.
  • Perform the duties of all positions being supervised.
  • Be able to direct and perform projects to perform quarry operations.
  • Be able to supervise all personnel in quarry operation.
  • Daily inspection of all pit and quarry operations is required.
  • Ability to identify and effectively schedule plant maintenance needs.
  • Be able to enter production for the day and review time sheets and enter them into computer daily.
  • Establish and follow a development plan in Success Factors to train/obtain skills to move into a quarry superintendent role.
  • Understand and adhere to all Government Regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 Years of experience in stone operation preferred.
