Summary

The “Utility/Maintenance” position performs welding and maintenance of all operations stationary and mobile equipment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures of MSHA and the MIDA group using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Travel from plant to plant.
  • Conduct daily safety assignments (area inspections, pre-shifts, JSA’s, TRACK forms, etc.)
  • Appear at work every day, except holidays, scheduled days off or illness.
  • Prepare for maintenance assignments by creating tool and parts kits for work orders as directed.
  • Maintain efficient work environment – 5S organized truck, tools, parts room/areas, Primary and Finish plant areas, etc.
  • Be aware of time constraints.  Jobs should be completed during scheduled hours (communicate the need for help as needed prior to the start of task).
  • Perform maintenance tasks on the plant as needed, including but not limited to: replacing rollers, bearings and welding.
  • Must be able to weld and cut with a torch. Must pass a weld test.
  • Clean up after all jobs.  Jobs are not considered completed until the work area has been cleaned of all debris.
  • Special projects may include plant maintenance on crushers, screens, and conveyors; demolition of old plants; installation of new plants; repairs and installations of water pumps and piping; shoveling and greasing when necessary.
  • Must provide some personal tools
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education and/or Experience

  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 Years of experience
  • Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check
  • Current PA driver’s license is required
