Job Summary


The IQS/Safety Assistant will provide support for the InfinityQS Team and the Safety Manager. Functions of this position are multifaceted, with the primary being maintaining records in multiple computer programs (InfinityQS, Training Manager, Magid PPE Vending, Riskonnect, etc.). In addition to clerical duties, the IQS/Safety Assistant will interact with facility personnel (via phone, email and/or direct conversations in production areas) to provide level one/troubleshooting support for system users. The IQS/Safety Assistant will also be involved in planning and coordinating safety-related events, as well as training sessions for both Safety and IQS. The ideal candidate must be able to work effectively in teams, as well as successfully complete assigned tasks independently. He/She will be dependable, detail oriented and possess a strong work ethic.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Collect, scan and upload documents from various departments including safety, human resources, quality, production and production control
  • Ensure all documents (training rosters, equipment certifications, reports, forms, etc.) are collected and registered in the applicable computer system
  • Interact and effectively communicate with all levels of facility personnel on various IQS/Safety related topics/issues on a regular basis
  • Assist IQS Team with project development and data entry
  • Communicate with outside vendors and/or internal personnel (at all levels) to schedule and coordinate safety events and various training sessions
  • Interact with Onboarders (New Hires) during “Day One” safety orientation activities
  • Create, print and distribute documents as necessary




  • Enthusiastic compliance with all Company Health & Safety Policies
  • Regular, predictable, full-time attendance with a willingness to work overtime and/or “off shift” hours
  • Proven ability to work effectively in teams, as well as independently
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and see them to completion
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Familiar with all Microsoft Applications
  • Experience with multiple file types and computer hardware
  • Experience with EPICS, InfinityQS, Training Manager a plus
  • Able to achieve (at minimum) intermediate level knowledge of all computer programs within 60 days of placement


Physical Requirements


  • Clerical duties require frequent sitting and/or standing
  • Gathering documents and/or assisting IQS team requires occasional walking in and around production areas




  • The manufacturing facility is subject to the same general climate conditions as outdoors (heat, cold, humidity, etc.)
  • Chemicals, dust, pollen and other typical airborne particulate matter are present in the atmosphere and may create some odors in the plant
  • In an effort to provide employees with a safe and healthy working environment, Oldcastle limits exposure to chemicals through written procedures, engineering controls and PPE
  • While some chemical may pose health risks if not properly used, employees are trained on the proper safety equipment and procedures for handling chemicals
  • While the chemical exposure and odors are under acceptable levels set by OSHA and TOSHA, they nevertheless, can be smelled and are handled according to the company’s hazardous program
