The Estimator reports to the Estimating Manager and is responsible to provide the customer with detailed estimation for quote requests on engineered projects. He/she is also expected to contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team.




  • Prepare detailed estimates of varying prospective projects with emphasis on major engineered projects.
  • Thorough review of construction documents to assure all aspects of the scope and schedule are clearly understood and identified during the biding and proposal stage.
  • Work closely with Sales, Engineering, along with other departments and Glazing Contractors to develop and implement accurate and competitive bids for key projects.
  • Produce clear and accurate quotes that set forth, scope, schedule and price with the appropriate clarifications and qualifications.
  • Respond to general customer inquiries for technical data and information.
  • Assist other members of the Estimating Team with problem solving and improving their efficiencies.
  • Assist in training new staff on products, systems and spreadsheets as required.
  • Assist the Estimating Manager and take a lead role in developing and implement estimating efficiencies.
  • Produce detailed project turnover files for secured projects & assist Estimating Manager with turnover to Project Management.
  • Accommodate new training and technology as made available.
  • Accept special assignments as may be presented.




  • Bilingual (English/French).
  • Minimum 5 years related industry experience.
  • Ability to read & interpret Blueprints & Architectural drawings.
  • Civil/Architectural Technology Diploma/ Degree preferable but not mandatory.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel & Word.
  • Literacy in AutoCAD & general computer knowledge.
