The Project Manager reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for processing, following up and coordinating customer orders from turnover from sales through design, production and shipping to achieve the company goals of on time deliver, conformance to specifications, customer satisfaction and maximum profitability.  The Project Manager is also expected to contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being a part of a winning team.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Review sales orders and specifications at turn over from sales, identifying all issues that require special attention, prioritize tasks and critical path issues.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.
  • Review order details, shop drawings and specifications with estimate to determine scope of order.
  • Develop and update a schedule of values for reach project as required.
  • Write up order summaries accurately detailing order requirements including dimensions, quantities and providing detail drawings, and special instructions where necessary.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members & stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Coordinate orders with design, production and shipping to ensure requirements are clearly understood and order commitments are met.
  • Provide regular updates to the master production schedule.
  • Plan and schedule project milestones & timelines using appropriate tools.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other steak holders.
  • Routine follow up of orders with staff, assist and instruct where necessary to ensure tasks are being addressed in a timely manner to ensure order commitments are met.
  • Provide regular updates to customers and address complaints and concerns.
  • Effectively identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Effectively track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Negotiate back charges in an effective manner if necessary.
  • Proactively and effectively manage project cost in comparison with the project estimate.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Knowledge and experience of Window & Curtainwall industry.
  • Technology Diploma preferred.
  • Organized, determined, proactive and able to interact well with other departments.
  • Customer Service oriented.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel & Project Management Software.
  • Flexible during times of change.
  • Persuasive, encouraging and motivating.
  • Ability to defuse tension among project team should it arise.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to read shop drawings and fabrication drawings.
