Position Overview

This position is a designated Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Materials Salesperson for our North Wasatch market.  Responsible for selling of HMA materials in the market area including development of new customer leads, fulfillment of orders, value added selling, collections and market intelligence. 

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Manage Key Accounts
  • Client-facing and spending a majority of the time in the field strengthening those relationships, closing sales and prospecting for new leads.
  • Work with Area Managers to maximize the use of HMA products.  
  • Establishing relationships with contractors for promotion of products.
  • Maintenance of the company CRM tool and follow up on all sales/quotes in a timely basis.
  • Keep fully abreast of the current marketing conditions and the activities of competitors.
  • Develop and strengthen relations with our existing FOB asphalt customers
  • Development of new customers
  • Work closely with Quality Control in monitoring specifications of products
  • Work with Credit Manager in assisting of collections of revenues in arrears.
  • Strive to provide "world class customer service" to all clients.
  • Utilization of Salesforce.com as the primary sales tool for all leads, key customer management and information portal
  • Prepare required paperwork, including, quotes, bid documents, contracts, subcontracts, job worksheets, special price forms, credit approvals, billing reports, sales reports/information requests etc. accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Review/Update monthly backlogs and enter into our forecasting models on a monthly basis.
  • Continuously review aging and address delinquent customers in coordination with our Credit Department.
  • Consistently visit our production sites and develop strategies to address operational challenges i.e. slow moving inventories, moving waste products, etc.            

 

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Four-year degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Working knowledge of asphalt mix design and performance to help sell the value in our products is preferred.
  • General understanding of sales and marketing fundamentals.                                           
  • Strong P.C. skills required, primarily web based applications, Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word, CRM Software. 
  • Must have good written, verbal, and organizational skills.   
  • Math competency is required.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry a plus.
