Primary Responsibilities


The role is a designated customer service / materials sales representative for our Greater Seattle market, served from our Auburn and Seattle locations.  Complete responsibility for selling of construction materials in our addressable market areas, through customer-centric actions and attitudes. Development of new customer leads, maintenance and growth of existing customer base. Fulfillment of orders, value added selling and collection and utilization of market intelligence.


Principle Accountabilities


  • Sales/Marketing
    • Comprehensive sales and marketing of ICON Materials asphalt and aggregates to all end users.  Customer base includes general contractors, municipalities, private and commercial businesses and various agencies within the states of Washington.
    • Being the face of ICON Materials with our customers and spending a representative amount of the time in the field strengthening those relationships, closing sales and prospecting for new leads.
    • Maintenance and use of the company’s sales tools, follow up on all sales/quotes in a timely basis.
    • Keep fully abreast of the current marketing conditions and the activities of competitors.
    • Maintain and strengthen relations with our existing FOB asphalt and aggregate customers.
    • Development of relations with new customers
    • Strive to provide "world class customer service" to all clients.
    • Collaboration with all ICON lines of business.


  • Administrative
    • Utilization of as the primary sales tool for all leads, key customer management and information portal.
    • Prepare required paperwork, including, quotes, bid documents, contracts, subcontracts, job worksheets, special price forms, credit approvals, billing reports, sales reports/information requests etc. accurately and on a timely basis.
    • Review/Update monthly backlogs and enter into our forecasting models (DF3) on a monthly basis.
    • Continuously review aging reports and address delinquent customers in coordination with our Credit Department.
    • Consistently visit our production sites and develop strategies to address operational challenges i.e. slow moving inventories, moving waste products, etc.




Individuals must possess the following character attributes, knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations, using some combination of skills and abilities, but not limited to those listed below:


  • Previous work experience demonstrating interpersonal and communication skills, customer service, sales or equivalent experience.
  • General understanding of sales and marketing fundamentals.
  • Always keep safety first.
  • Valid driver’s license.                                           
  • Strong P.C. skills required, primarily web based applications, Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word, CRM Software. 
  • Must have good written, verbal, and organizational skills.   
  • Math Competency is required.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry a plus.
