Job Title:                   Shipping Attendant/Dispatch

Reports to:               Terminal Manager

FLSA Status:             Full Time; Non-Exempt



Directs truckers onto scales, weighs truck, loads truck with proper type of cement to weight specified, generates necessary paper work with the appropriate authorization. Assists with the unloading of cement from trucks and ships.


Essential Duties:

  • Performs pre shift inspections on equipment and workplace
  • Loads trucks and  completes proper paper work
  • Maintains equipment for proper operation, cleans filters, lubricates blowers and compressors, grease valves, checks blow downs and bag houses, clean scales
  • Maintain housekeeping procedures in all areas of the terminal
  • Follow plant safety policies
  • Must be able to work any shift as per marketing requirements



Minimum Qualifications: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • 1 + years experience in material handling
  • Must be a self starter, able to follow written and verbal instructions and ability to perform assigned work alone.
  • Forklift and Bobcat experience required
  • Ability to perform tasks that include walking, climbing equipment, working within confined spaces and lifting up to 100 lbs
  • Working knowledge of PC operations and software
  • Ability to pass Computer and written test
  • Must be able to work on any of the various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays, if necessary.
