Position Overview

 

The Tilcon New York Inc. Vice President of Finance provides leadership of the finance function in accordance with CRH AMAT reporting standards. Responsibilities include financial leadership, coaching to the company Asst. Controllers, effective communication and implementation of policies and practices, detailed oversight of the managerial reporting process and problem resolution. Provides strategic leadership to the business and guidance to senior leadership.  

 

Roles and Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

Business Partner

 

  • Providing insight, independent perspectives, support and oversight on all aspects of the business
  • Challenging assumptions and processes in order to improve performance
  • Oversees accounting personnel and functions in the day-to-day financial activities of the Company (AR, AP, banking, payroll, collections, etc.) and the preparation of internal financial statements.
  • Work closely with CRH AMAT Finance group to ensure alignment with corporate standards and SOX compliance.
  • Ensure that adequate controls are implemented and maintained to safeguard financial risk and assets of the organization. 
  • Prepares operating budgets and management reports; makes independent economic analyses of business opportunities and capital expenditures; and evaluates the financial impact of related actions being considered by the corporation.
  • Works closely with the TNY President on financial planning, corporate vision and strategic initiatives.
  • Organizes, interprets and presents operating and financial data, including identification of significant success/problem indicators to senior management.
  • Works in conjunction with auditors in the preparation of audited financial statements.
  • Ensures compliance with state tax (sales, income, etc.) laws in several states, including collection, payment and reporting.

Qualifications

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Education/Experience

 

Required

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification and/or MBA strongly preferred. 
  • A minimum of 10 years managerial/leadership experience in a finance role leading a team of finance professionals.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant.

 

Preferred

 

  • Manufacturing and/or construction background along with multi-site operations experience and publically traded company

 

Work Requirements

 

  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Ability to travel to/from various work sites
  • When in the field, required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.
  • Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety Glasses, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, Dust masks & Hearing Protection

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
