Position Overview

 

This position is a great full-time opportunity for a college student in the Rochester area. This position is available immediately on a part time basis, and full time during the summer months. This work is conducted under direction of the manager of Informational Services by performing the following duties.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Learn and develop skills in information technology while providing customer service to our user community
  • Support and maintain user account information
  • Provide technical support for desktop operations systems, email, Microsoft Office, and PC hardware in person and over the phone
  • Assist with the rollout of laptops and desktops
  • Follow-up and update IT tickets with status updates and accurate notes
  • Consult with supervisor to ensure agreement on system principles
  • Read manuals and technical reports to best meet staff and user requirements
  • Recommend new equipment or software packages
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

 

Education/Experience

 

  • Internship candidate – college student enrolled or recently graduated from a credited 4- year program
  • 1 year in IT related work, or 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

 

  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times
  • Be able to interact with vendors, organizational employees, and different levels of management
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be willing to travel when required
  • Be goal orientated and a self-starter
  • IT and computer technology experience and knowledge
  • Cleanliness & neatness of all equipment, tools, desks, & computers
  • Be able to work independently, safely, have strong organization skills, and have a strong work ethic
  • Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health & Safety Manual
  • Strict adherence to Dolomite policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required
