Job Summary


The Quality Manager establishes and manages systems to ensure raw materials, products, and processes meet OES quality standards and customer specifications.  The Quality Manager spends 50% of time actively involved on the production floor.  There will be approximately 10% of travel. 


Essential Duties


  • Leads production teams in the identification and resolution of Quality and Service issues, driving root-cause identification efforts (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEAs)
  • Mentors Production Supervisors on Quality standards and root-cause analysis and provides training to production operators on Quality criteria
  • Manages and ensures incoming raw materials and finished product are tested and meets defined specifications in compliance with company QA manual
  • Tracks scrap product percentage and cost and works with Production and Engineering to troubleshoot and find solutions and improvements to processes, documentation, and machines through data analysis 
  • Manages the inspection plan for incoming supplied parts, finished goods products, production processes including first article startup, and distribution center orders
  • Translates QA manual requirements into standard work processes and procedures and ensure the QA department carries out these tasks
  • Manages the QA Test Lab and directs QC Technician’s work performance in maintaining a clean and safe work environment using 5s principles
  • Key driver in writing and maintaining Corrective Action Reports (CARs) for the plant




  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business related field  preferred




  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to injection molding desirable, but not mandatory
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and directing others, developing a team with responsibility for performance review and goal setting




  • Excellent communication, presentation, and listening skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft office tools
  • Training or direct exposure to Quality management with ISO9001 auditing principles as well as Lean Six Sigma desirable


Physical/ Mental/ Environmental Demands


  • This job involves the following physical demands:  Walking, climbing stairs/ladders, standing, climbing, bending, stretching, and using hands and fingers to hold, grasp, push, and lift items

  • Lifting requirements are generally up to 40 pounds maximum

  • Environmental conditions involve indoor & outdoor work, and in proximity to hot equipment

  • Job responsibilities involve frequent exposure to oil and grease
