Job Summary

 

We are currently seeking an analytical, team-oriented individual for a fulltime Maintenance Mechanic position. Primary duties are to maintain and repair plant production equipment while adhering to all rules and regulations mandated by safety policies and procedures. Ability to coordinate with production to ensure timely repair of equipment is essential therefore, one must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, basic electrical and carpentry skills, and some welding and pipefitting experience.

 

Shift: 7 am - 5 pm Mon - Fri (some overtime and weekends are mandatory)

Starting Pay: $18.00 / hour

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for ensuring proper electrical functioning of plant equipment and machinery
  • Support operations by maintaining equipment at optimal condition
  • Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment as needed and overhauling the equipment when necessary
  • Assist with plant maintenance, repair, and installation operations
  • Troubleshoot and determine appropriate repairs, replace defective parts as needed, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Assemble, install, test, and inspect machines and equipment
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Regular and predictable attendance, the ability to safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job

 

Requirements

 

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Basic welding, torch cutting, and pipefitting experience
  • Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to understand and work from mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics
  • Must be knowledgeable of OSHA safety requirements, especially those related to electrical and mechanical operations and components
  • Possess a strong mechanical and basic electrical aptitude
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Knowledge of local chemical waste removal codes a plus

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Ability to stand, lift, bend, twist, walk, and reach frequently, as well as kneel or crawl
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.). The plant is not climate controlled
