Summary Taking, scheduling and shipping of ready mix concrete orders and coordinates activities of workers engaged in delivering ready mix concrete by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Taking of customer orders for concrete and concrete products accurately and in a timely manner.

 

Scheduling of customer orders to best fulfill customer needs and Conco's resources.

 

Entering customer order information into the current dispatching software accurately and in a timely manner.

 

Quotes prices for company products and services such as ready mix concrete, delivery, expansion joints, microfiber reinforcement...

 

Confers with plant production as to scheduling needs and availability of plants, materials and drivers.

 

Prepares delivery tickets and assigns drivers for scheduled deliveries.

 

Maintains driver payroll time records.

 

Maintains radio contact with drivers to expedite deliveries.

 

Directs production workers to produce and delivery products according to customer specifications to meet delivery schedules..

 

Works as an interface between all other areas of Conco, such as  sales, credit, production, engineering, accounting...

 

Works closely with the Sales Information Specialist to ensure accurate and timely customer and job information.

 

Accumulates and reports various dispatching items such as, lost orders, on-time delivery, problems on jobs...

Education and/or Experience                                                   

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  Familiarity with the construction industry and/or dispatching experience.

 

Language Skills                                                

 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

 

Mathematical Skills                                                     

 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

 

Reasoning Ability                                             

 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

 

Computer Skills                                               

 

Must be competent with the Microsoft Windows environment.  Must have adequate keyboarding skills for entering and maintaining computer files.  Must be able to learn new programs that are purchased or developed.  Effectively utilize information technology and general office machines.

 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

 

American Concrete Institute (ACI) certificate is desirable.
