What will I be doing?

 

In this role, you will ensure smooth operation of the warehouse/yard by performing material inspections upon receipt, filling orders, loading and unloading vehicles and notifying management of stock deficiencies.

 

Job Description

 

  • Filling orders quickly and accurately
  • Initialing Pick Tickets as orders are loaded and then insure secondary verification
  • Servicing will-call customers in a professional and timely manner
  • Carefully inspecting condition and quantity of received materials before placing them in the warehouse
  • Properly placing received materials in correct bin locations
  • Communicating all necessary deviations with the Receiving Coordinator (in advance) to facilitate proper changes in the inventory control system
  • Labeling and storing all non-stock items
  • Monitoring warehouse employees to ensure compliance of items 1-8, and corrected when they deviate from prescribed procedures
  • Completing cycle counts and inventory checks in a timely and accurate manner
  • Loading and unloading vehicles in a safe and professional manner
  • Notifying Branch or Operations Manager when inventory levels appear low
  • Training new personnel in accordance with branch procedures
  • Insuring that office supplies and restroom materials (i.e. towels, toilet paper, etc.) are maintained at a working level
  • Verifying product descriptions, condition, amounts, and nomenclature
  • Reconciling printed tickets to actual stock
  • Completing paperwork in a timely fashion (Pick Tickets, Inventory Count Sheets, etc)
  • Supervising other Yard personnel
  • Moving materials in yard and warehouse
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

 

  • Previous lead roll in warehouse, and inventory control experience 
  • Ability to drive a forklift
  • Experience working directly with the customer
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, vendors and customers
  • Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors under adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to handle all types of building products
  • Ability to lift 75+ lbs. repeatedly throughout the day

 

Preferences

 

  • Knowledge of logistics and distribution
  • Industry experience preferred
  • Bi-lingual a plus
