JOB TITLE:                 Die Design Technician


Job Summary


Oldcastle Building Envelope has an exciting opportunity for a Die Design Technician to join the Product Development Team at our Terrell facility.  The Die Design Technician is responsible to design, draw and release to production extrusion drawings in support of companywide requests.

  • Work from preliminary engineering designs or shop drawings to develop aluminum extrusion designs and supporting die drawings
  • Ensure proper mating and alignment of interconnected extrusions and consistency with existing product designs and proper extrusion practices
  • Generate die drawings following industry/company standards and distribute to the affected departments
  • Assist other departments/facilities with existing or new extrusion designs to meet their needs
  • All extrusion drawings to be developed on AutoCAD in the existing format and maintained in a database accessible to other departments/facilities
  • Work overtime hours as necessary to maintain schedules and meet performance goals




  • A minimum of two years technical degree in drafting and design
  • 2+ year’s experience as an AutoCAD Technician preferred
  • Proficient with the use of AutoCAD
  • Training and experience with AutoDesk Vault and Inventor preferred
  • Strong math skills and understanding of trigonometry
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word and Lotus Notes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, engineering, sales, and other internal departments
  • Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of this job
