Oldcastle Enclosure Solutions (OES), a rapidly growing division of the nation’s largest building materials business, is looking for reliable, hardworking candidates with a strong desire to grow or begin their career. This opportunity is to join our Distribution Center team, where you will learn to operate mobile equipment (such as forklifts), receive, unload and place into inventory raw materials, prepare customer orders for shipment and load trucks. OES will provide thorough training, including the safe operation of a forklift, to the successful candidate.

 

Summary

 

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Verifies accuracy of counts, weights or measures of incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Operates forklift safely to stack and retrieve supplies and materials
  • Maintains accurate inventory records
  • Keeps work area clean, organized and safe
  • Receives, unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items and records shortages.
  • Packs, crates, and ships products out to customers or other OES distribution centers
  • Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience

 

  • High school education or equivalent; or at least one month of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Language Skills

 

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

 

Mathematical Skills

 

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

 

 Reasoning Ability

 

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

 

Physical Demands

 

  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Lifting may be required with assistance provided if needed

 

Work Environment

 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration
  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, heat and cold
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high
