Summary

 

This position requires that material including glass and metal be unloaded from company vehicles.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Must be able to read and understand delivery receipts and production labels
  • Unload product from the truck. Handle product in a manner that will not cause damage to the product or injury to self or others
  • Recognize product defects and notify driver immediately of any issues
  • Ensure truck is on level ground before unloading
  • When unloading items, keep weight of product evenly distributed on the vehicle
  • Assist driver with securement of product on truck after each delivery is completed
  • Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job

 

 

Requirements

 

 

To be considered for a Driver Assistant position, the following conditions must be met:

  • Must be flexible to stay away overnight for up to 4 nights per week
  • Must have a clean MVR with no more than two moving violations in three years
  • Must have desire to become a CDL driver to progress into a driver position
  • Must be able to present and interact themselves in a professional way to customers

  • Glass cups, and writing instruments

 

Safety

 

  • Personal Protective Equipment –Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Shoes with met-guards, Cut Resistant Gloves, Cut Resistant Outerwear
  • Hazards -Strain/Sprain, Laceration/Puncture, Contusion, Slipping, Climbing, Heavy Lifting
  • Controls - Personal Protective Equipment, Safety Training, Written Procedures

 

Work Environment

 

  • Various types of weather, traffic, and road conditions
  • Normal climate conditions of the region will also be present such as humidity, heat, and cold
  • Noise levels in the work environment (in truck or plant facility) can be moderate to high

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Ability to kneel/crawl, climb, stand, stoop/squat, climb stairs, and walk occasionally (0--32X/shift)
  • Ability to sit, bend/twist, and carry frequently (33-200X/shift)
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 75 lbs.
