Position Overview


Supervises activities in a major operations department such as the pit, maintenance or blasting.


Roles and Responsibilities

(Essential Duties and Functions)


  • Directs or coordinates personnel and activities utilizing knowledge of department functions, company policies, regulations, and plant standards and practices
  • Reviews and analyzes reports, records, directives, regulations, and confers with other supervisors to obtain data for required planning of activities and solving department problems
  • Delegates responsibility for specific work to other supervisory personnel or employees
  • Gives work direction, resolves problems, prepares work schedules, and sets deadlines
  • Coordinates with other departments to insure optimal efficiency and economy
  • Prepares reports and records for managements
  • Evaluates procedures and practices for alternate methods and improvements
  • Complies with all environmental, health, safety and training policies, procedures and requirements
  • Regular and timely attendance is required
  • Additional duties as assigned or required.

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with 10 years+ of practical work experience.
  • Work experience with screens and crushers needed.
  • Valid driver’s license



  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.E.) from four year college or university, Engineering preferred
  • At least 3 years’ experience in an operations leadership role.
  • Previous work experience with a Union shop is preferred.


Work Requirements


  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when required.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.  Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is:  Face Shield, Safety Glasses, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, Dust masks & Hearing Protection

This job will require both office work and field work.
