Overview

 

Reports to the General Manager and responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting and human resource functions including, but not limited to; general ledger, payables, receivables, SOX controls, audit preparation, month-end reporting, employee application preview, employee relations & training, payroll, benefits, regulatory compliance, affirmative action, and safety compliance.   

                                                                                                                                     

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

 

  • Follow and enforce plant policies to assist in maintaining safe, secure, & stable working conditions.
  • Manage financial functions & reporting to assure accurate completion in a timely manner.
  • Manage HR functions to attract & retain quality employees and comply with gov't regulations.
  • Direct, delegate, & coach staff employees to efficiently achieve plant objectives.
  • Recognize positive behaviors to encourage a positive work environment.
  • Observe people, processes & products to identify potential execution issues & initiate corrective actions.
  • Encourage employees to develop ideas for improvement.
  • Identify & develop high potential employees to prepare them for advancement & fill the pipeline.
  • Communicate expectations, follow-up on actions, and evaluate results to recognize extraordinary effort & significant contributions, or hold employees accountable for insufficient effort or results.
  • Coordinate activities with other managers as required (Maintenance, Quality, Sales, etc.)
  • Communicate successes, issues, conflicts, & failures to the GM, managers, and direct reports.
  • Primary plant contact for corporate IT & phone support.                

                                                                                                                                                                                     

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree with major in Business with an emphasis in accounting. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and related HR/Finance computing applications.
  • Ability to thrive, think outside the box, & anticipate opportunities & pitfalls in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidence and self-motivation; able to work independently and prioritize multiple activities.
  • Commitment to Zero Harm, Quality Management, & Continuous Improvement.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, & communication (written, verbal, presentation) skills.

 

Preferences

 

  • Accounting & HR experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance Training.
  • Safety management experience or training.
